Job Title: Packaging Mechanic

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, repair, and upgrade packaging/production machinery and equipment.
• Filling, labeling, and capping equipment
• May work on complex machinery and equipment
• May train Machine Operators on the proper use of equipment and machinery
• Ensure OSHA compliance of assigned machinery and equipment in regard to use and maintenance
• Perform daily clean-up and organization of maintenance area, tools and supplies
• Adhere to all GMP requirements
• Adhere to all safety regulations
• Maintain excellent teams working relationships
• Observe problems with equipment, components, raw materials or product and alert the Sr. Manufacturing Maintenance Supervisor immediately
• Alert the Sr. Manufacturing Maintenance Supervisor immediately to any safety concerns or issues
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Sr. Process Engineer

Requirements:

• Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems as the systems apply to batching, compounding, and packaging processes
• Demonstrate knowledge in the use, maintenance and care of tools, equipment and machinery
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills is required
• Demonstrate experience of very strong mechanical ability is required
• Ability to work independently is required
• Ability and flexibility work second shift to perform preventive maintenance and repairs

Education/Certification/Trainings:

• High School diploma is required
• Minimum 3 years experience with progressively responsible and related experience working in a consumer products manufacturing/production and packaging facility
• Educational certificate from a recognized technical institute is preferred

Compensation: $18 - $22/hr

Desired: Design knowledge of the following: generators, networking systems, lighting, power systems, security systems, media systems, sprinkler and stand pipes, storage, clean rooms, air & water cooled chillers, heat pumps, fire alarm systems, sound systems.
